The name "Bangor Sawmill" is a later designation. The mill was sometimes called the Parker-Eakins mill, but by tradition the mill was commonly referred to by the name of its manager at the time.

The first manager was Norm Raymond. To some, the mill became Raymond's mill (chez les Raymond). Later, when Captain A. W. Hilton became the manager, the mill became Hilton's mill. The third and last Parker-Eakins manager was Ernest Demings, so the mill became Demings' mill. After the

first two mills burned, the third and final configuration was built under the supervision of Demings and Delphis Saulnier of Bangor. The mill was maintained by Saulnier until Parker-Eakins sold it to Thomas Comeau, who converted it to diesel power. The mill subsequently changed hands several times until the economic viability of such an operation made it obsolete. Although the mill was powered by a diesel engine in its final years, fortunately the water turbine was never removed, allowing it to be restored to operating condition.
